The much castigated Rivers Peace deal, brokered by President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday at Aso Villa Abuja, came under threat on Friday as commercial activities was disrupted in Port Harcourt main town when thousands of people trooped out in a peaceful solidarity rally for Governor Siminilayi Fubara.
As early ad 7 a.m, several groups from students union, civil liberty organizations to the Hausa community among others, occupied the Government House main gate along Azikiwe Road.
In a video obtained by CHECKPOINTCHARLEY, speakers at the rally doubled down on their request to the governor not to allow anyone to intimidate him or succumb to pressure to scuttle the will of the people who voted him into.
The highlight was when the mammoth crowd chanted the song, “Wike dey your dey, make we dey our dey…”
