
Embattled former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele has regain his freedom, in time for Christmas, after meeting up with his bail condition.
Mr. Emefiele was released on Friday from the Kuje Correctional Centre, where he had been remanded by Justice Hamza Muazu of the Federal Capital Territory High Court Abuja, who had granted him a N300m bail, with two sureties in like sum.
The spokesperson for the Kuje Correctional Centre, FCT, Adamu Duza, confirmed the development to the press on Saturday.
The former CBN boss, was release around 2pm on Friday, he said.
Emefiele is being prosecuted by the federal government for alleged procurement fraud.
Justice Muazu had ordered Emefiele to deposit all his travel documents with the registrar of the court.
He also ordered that he must remain within the Abuja Municipal Area Council.
