The police in Rivers State have reportedly killed Gift Okpara, popularly known as 2 Baba, the prime suspect in the murder of a former Divisional Police Officer, Bako Angbashim.
Punch reported that this followed a land and aerial raid on his hideout by joint security operatives in Idu-Ekpeye in Ahoada East Local Government Area of the state on Saturday afternoon.
A senior police source who pleaded anonymity as he was not authorized to speak on the raid, disclosed this to the newspaper.
He said, “2 Baba was hit severally with bullets alongside some of his loyalists.
“He fell flat on the ground, but some of his boys quickly took him away. The police is still moving in to get his corpse.”
Recall that Superintendent Angbashim was ambushed and captured by the 2 Baba led gang in Odiemudie community, Ahoada East LGA of the State in September 2023.
He was taken into the forest where he was killed and his body decapitated and filmed.
