Gov Fubara’s Unannounced Visit To Rivers Assembly Instils Fear In Pro-Wike Members

Fear gripped House of Assembly members loyal to the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike as Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara Thursday visited the State Assembly residential quarters on Aba Road.

A source told CHECKPOINTCHARLEY that the governor visited in view of his plan to start renovation of the facility. Which would mean dislocation of the occupants, temporarily, or maybe permanently – depending on the outcome of the cases challenging the membership of those who decamped from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.

The visit followed calls from the APC on the State House of Assembly to impeach the governor.

Fubara, who visited the facility, did not talk to anyone, rather took a stroll round before moving on to monitor an ongoing project around Obiri-Ikwerre.

Earlier, there were reports that the state government has commenced efforts to begin the renovation of the state assembly complex. This created more panic among the lawmakers loyal to Wike.
