An operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly committed suicide at his residence in Abuja, Nigeria.
The deceased, a member of Course 5, was described as diligent, efficient, and unassuming.
An investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the suicide, EFCC spokesperson Mr. Dele Oyewale, who confirmed the tragedy, said.
Mr. Oyewale disclosed that, “an investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the suicide.”
He added that the Commission is exploring possible factors, including mental health and family challenges, that may have contributed to the operative’s depression and tragic decision.
The EFCC had not released the deceased officer’s name because it said investigation into the circumstances surrounding the suicide is still ongoing.
