Bandits Release Kaduna Judge Without Children, Threaten To kill Them If N150m Ransom Is Not Paid

Bandits have released Kaduna judge, Janet Gimba, killing her 14-year-old son, after she and her four children were abducted on Sunday.

The judge’s husband, Dr. Musa Gimba, who confirmed her release, however said their three other children are still being held by the bandits.

According to him, the bandits are threatening to kill them unless a N150 million ransom is paid within three days.

The Kaduna State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mansir Hassan ASP, confirmed that the bandits killed the 14-year-old eldest son of the judge, Victor.

He said operatives found his corpse at Ungwan Bayero, Duste village near too gate along the Kaduna-Abuja expressway on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

The police spokesman however assured that the command and other sister security agencies are working tirelessly to rescue the victims and arrest the terrorists.

Human rights lawyer and Chief Executive Officer of the House of Justice, Gloria  Ballason, had revealed in a statement on Wednesday that the judge and her four children were kidnapped by the bandits on Sunday.

Ballason had described the murder of Victor, the 14-year-old son of the Judge as “grisly and blood-curdling”, stating that no parent deserved the horror of watching their child being killed in such cold, callous manner.
