I Knew My Son Was Going To Be A Star At Birth – Yamal’s Father

Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal was always destined for greatness, according to his father, Mounir Nasraoui.

In an interview with Spanish media on Thursday, Nasraoui revealed that he knew his son was “blessed by God” and would become a star from the moment he was born.

A viral photo of a young Lionel Messi helping bathe a six-month-old Lamine has fueled jokes among football fans, suggesting the Barca icon himself blessed the future star.

This image, shared by Nasraoui, has only heightened the buzz surrounding Yamal, especially after his standout performance for Spain in the European Championship semi-final against France.

Nasraoui spoke proudly about his son’s achievements from their Rocafonda neighborhood in Mataró, 30 kilometers east of Barcelona. “I knew about my son when he was born, I knew he was going to be a star. Whoever is a father knows it, and any father wants his child to be the best,” he said.

“Not only in football, but also in the love he gives and as a person. He is a child and he has a blessing from God, which is very important and must be valued.”

Yamal’s exceptional performance in the Euros has brought media attention to their doorstep.

As Spain heads to the final against England, Nasraoui expressed his elation over La Roja’s progress and his son’s contributions.

“He wants to be the youngest player to win a European Championship, like any kid,” he said.

Lamine has already made history as the youngest scorer in the continental tournament.

Following the Euros, Lamine will return to Barcelona under new manager Hansi Flick.

With his position on the right flank secured for both club and country, there is speculation that he might soon be joined by his Spain teammate Nico Williams if Barcelona can manage to trigger the left winger’s release clause.
