
Suspected political thugs have detonated explosives at the state secretariat of the main opposition political party in Rivers State, the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
The attack took place early morning on Saturday, hours to the kick-off of the State Local Government elections.
A clip that has gone viral on the internet showed that the incident, which is suspected to be from dynamites, damaged the main gate and the security post of the APC secretariat and some parts of the building.
This is the second time the Chief Tony Okocha-led APC secretariat is attacked this year.
The spokesperson for the state police command Grace Iringe-Koko, said she had yet to get a report on the incident.
While the APC had yet to issue a statement.
