Heavy shooting is reportedly ongoing in the Rumuepirikom Community, the home of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike.
A source in the area told the Vanguard that earlier some people had come into the community and announced that people should not come out for the polls.
It was gathered that when the electoral officers were about to arrive at the ward in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, armed bandits arrived in the area, as well.
The unidentified gunmen, who arrived in the area under heavy gunfire, reportedly took the area hostage scaring people from coming out to participate in the election.
One person is said to have sustained a bullet injury and was rushed to a health facility for treatment.
