Despite attempts in some quarters to truncate the Rivers State Local Government Elections, voting has commenced in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, Local Government Council Elections in the state.
Voting started at Unit 3, 025, Ward 4, NlMgbueto, Community, Emohua Local Government at 8:30 am when the electoral officers arrived.
The process remained peaceful without police or any other security operatives in sight.
Speaking after casting his vote at unit 3, the Councillorship Candidate of the Action Peoples Party, APP, Omenihu Jackson, described the process as peaceful.
He said, “The election has been peaceful. People are conducting themselves well and the process is going on well. I have cast my vote.
The leader of the ward, Collins. Amesi also expressed confidence in the process, stressing that the election has been peaceful without police.
He said, “You can see that the election is going on well without police. We commend RSIEC for conducting this peaceful process.
