Despite the public apology by House of Reps member Alex Ikwechegh over his outrageous assault on a bolt driver, Mr Stephen Abuwatseya, the Nigeria Police insist that justice must be served.
CHECKPOINTCHARLEY reported that the lawmaker, representing Aba North and South Federal Constituency, was captured in a viral video physically assaulting the bolt driver.
The driver had gone to deliver snails to Mr. Ikwechegh at his residence in Zamfara Crescent, Maitama, Abuja on the 27th October.
The Police reaffirmed its commitment to serve justice in a post on its official Facebook page on Wednesday morning.
“The Nigeria Police Force has commenced an impartial investigation into the matter and wishes to reaffirm its commitment and readiness to ensure justice is served accordingly,” the NPF wrote.
