This was confirmed by his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, in a post on his X account on Wednesday morning.
“Our client Speed Darlington, a.k.a. AKPI, has been arrested by the Nigerian police in Owerri at his show upon return to Nigeria.”
The reasons for Darlington’s arrest remained is still not clear, but recall that he was arrested on October 4 by the Nigerian police for allegedly cyberstalking fellow musician Burna Boy.
He was however released on bail after spending five days in detention.
