
Gospel singer Timileyin Ajayi, the suspected killer of Salome Adaidu, has pleaded not guilty to the allegation.
He entered the plead after he was arraigned at the High Court of Justice, Lafia, before Justice Simon Aboki on Monday.
The accused is facing one count of culpable homicide, punishable by death, contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria.
After taking his plea, the presiding judge, Justice Simon Aboki, remanded Ajayi at the Lafia Custodial Centre, and adjourned the case to March 17, 2025 for a hearing.
Aboki pledged to give the case an accelerated hearing because of its seriousness and sensitive nature.
Recall that the suspect was found in possession of the severed head of Salome Adaidu, a National Youth Service Corps, NYSC member.
It understood that both were in an amorous relationship.
Ajayi had admitted to the crime, claiming that he killed Adaidu after discovering she was cheating on him.
According to him, he had no regrets for killing her.
