The Lagos State Police Commissioner, Moshood Jimoh, has claimed that the security detail of the Speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda were withdrawn “for audit purposes.”
Jimoh stated this on Thursday while addressing a press briefing at the command’s headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos, disclosing that her security details had been restored.
The commissioner stressed that the withdrawal was not done out of an ulterior motive.
CHECKPOINTCHARLEY reported that while all the security aides attached to Meranda were withdrawn, former speaker Mudashiru Obasa stormed the Assembly complex with armed security officers and thugs in a bid to illegally reinstate himself as speaker.
It is understood that all security aides attached to the ousted speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, were restored.
Recall that CP Jimoh was earlier this month sent to Lagos as police commissioner.
