Gunmen Attack Senator Natasha’s Family House In Alleged Assassination Attempt

Gunmen Tuesday night stormed the family house of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State in apparent assassination attempt.

It was gathered that the gunmen invaded the house, believing that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan was inside at the time of the attack.

A statement by the Senator’s media team condemned the attack as a “brazen and calculated assault.”

“The armed men, mistakenly believing the Senator was present, vandalised windows in her grandfather’s house.

“Fortunately, security operatives swiftly responded and repelled the attackers. This calculated assault appears to be a direct response to Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s courageous stance against Senate President Godswill Akpabio,” the statement said.

The media team urged the Inspector General of Police to “immediately reinstate her security details” to ensure her safety.

The reason for the attack is still unknown, as at the time of filing this report.

The lawmaker, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District in the Senate, was suspended from the Senate after she accused the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment.

The Kogi Police Command had yet to comment on the incident.
