Armed bandits led by kingpin Babaro have reportedly stormed Kankara LGA of Katsina state in North-West Nigeria and taken over the entire area.
Security analyst, Bakatsine, who revealed in a post on his X handle, said the bandits have already killed several people and banned farming activities in the area.
“BREAKING: Bandits led by feared warlord, Babaro seize control of Kankara LGA, Katsina State. Farming banned from Marabar Kankara to Yantumaki, dozens killed/kidnapped, healthcare collapsed.
Residents beg Gov Dikko Radda & FG for urgent intervention,” he wrote.
Kankara has long been a flashpoint of terrorist attacks and kidnapping activities in Katsina state.
Authorities are yet to comment on the situation as at the time of filing this report.
