The African Democratic Congress (ADC)-led coalition has announced a new venue for its official unveiling after the abrupt cancellation of the original booking by Wells Carlton Hotel earlier on Wednesday.
The event will now be held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, starting at 2:00 pm, ADC’s Deputy National Secretary, Nkem Ukandu said in a statement.
He said the change became necessary after the sudden cancellation of the event by the management of the hotel which was initially slated to host the unveiling ceremony.
The cancellation of the fully paid reservation just hours before the programme was set to begin triggered outrage among opposition leaders, with some accusing the APC-led government of complicity.
“Members of the National Working Committee, National Executive Committee, BOT, and other key stakeholders and members are expected to attend.
“Please note that attendance is self-sponsored,” the statement however read.
