Senate President Godswill Akpabio has replaced suspended senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, as chairman of the Senate Committee on Diaspora and Non-Governmental Organisations, which may be seen as vindictive by many.
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan had accused Mr. Akpabio, president of the senate, of sexually harassing her. That fetched the Kogi senator a suspension for six months, without fair hearing, according to her.
Meanwhile, her allegation of sexual harassment had yet to be investigated.
Senate President, Akpabio named Senator Aniekan Bassey as the new Chairman of the Committee on Diaspora and Non-Governmental Organisations.
He replaces Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, he announced during plenary on Thursday.
Meanwhile, an Abuja high court last week quashed Natasha’s suspension as unconstitutional and ordered her reinstatement.
