
President Bola Tinubu on Friday, met with the Sultan of Sokoto, Sultan Muhammad Sa’adu Abubakar, at the State House, after the United States threatened military strikes on terrorists hideouts in Northern Nigeria,
President Donald Trump had threatened that if the Tinubu government does not stop the alleged killing of Christians by Islamic terrorists, the United States will intervene to end it.
The meeting between Tinubu and the Sultan was confirmed by Tinubu’s Special Assistant on New Media, Dada Olusegun, on X.
This comes only a few days after the president met with the Archbishop of Abuja, Bishop Ignatius Ayau Kaigama.
Olusegun stated that it was part of wide consultations with religious and traditional leaders.
He wrote alongside a video clip of the meeting: “As part of wide consultations with Religious and Traditional leaders, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met the Sultan of Sokoto, His Emminence, Sultan Muhammad Sa’adu Abubakar at the State House today just a few days after meeting Bishop Ignatius Ayau Kaigama, the Archbishop of Abuja.”
