BREAKING: Defence Minister Abubakar Badaru Resigns Amid Worrying Insecurity

Nigeria’s defence minister, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar has resigned his appointment, with immediate effect.

In a letter dated December 1, sent to President Bola Tinubu, Abubakar said he was quitting on health grounds.

His resignation comes as Nigeria grapples with worrying insecurity, which forced President Bola Tinubu to declare a nation emergency on security.

Unconfirmed reports say he is set to be replaced by former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa.

Musa met with President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday evening.
