
Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe and some major political heavyweights in the Southeast have joined the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi in the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, representing Abia South in the Nigerian Senate, is one of the most respected politicians in the country, popular for his authenticity, speaking truth to power and putting the people first before politics.
Earlier in Enugu on Wednesday, Mr. Peter Obi had officially announced his defection to the ADC from the crisis-ridden Labour Party, which is a major boost to the coalition.
Other notable politicians from the southeast who also joined Obi in the ADC include former Imo state Governor Achike Udenwa , Senators representing Anambra Central, Victor Umeh, Anambra North, Tony Nwoye, and federal lawmaker representing Ogbaru Federal Constituency, Afam Ogene, also defected to the ADC.
It is expected that many more political associates of Mr Obi and members of the Obidient movement will also join the ADC coalition.
Former Imo State governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, former governor Sam Egwu and senator Ben Obi are also members of the new coalition.
