Star striker Victor Osimhen was again influential Saturday night as Galatasaray SK dismissed visiting Alanyaspor 3-1 at Rams Park, contributing a goal and an assist.
The Nigerian international’s acrobatic cross was cleverly utilised by Lucas Torreira to put Galatasaray 2-1 ahead after the visitors equalised Sacha Boey opener just before half-time.
Steve Mounie silenced Rams Park when he levelled for Alanyaspor early in the second half before Lucas Torreira restored Galatasaray’s lead following Osimhen’s assist.
Osimhen later ensured all three points were taken by the league leader when he capitalized on a blunder by the opposing goalkeeper, latching on a loose ball to tap into an empty net.
Substituted late in the match by Mauro Icardi, Osimhen once again underlined his importance in the team.
The Super Eagles mercurial striker now has 17 goals and 6 assists in 25 games this season for the Turkish giants as Galatasaray maintains a five-point lead over arch-rivals Fenerbahçe. The teams will meet again in the Turkish Cup on Tuesday.
