The security situation in Niger Delta gets worse as a another militant group, Joint Niger Delta Liberation Force (JNDLF) yesterday, barely hours after President Muhammadu Buhari cancelled visit to the region for security reasons, gave the Nigerian military  48 hours of grace to vacate Niger Delta creeks or face a full blown war.

The new group, which claimed ties to the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), threatened to launch six missiles in the Niger Delta region and warned the military against deployment of helicopters to the South-South as it will shoot them down.

In a statement, signed by four of its members, JNDLF picked June 7 as the date for the start of launching of its missiles. According to the statement, once the deployment of the six missiles started, no flight operations should take place within the country’s airspace.

The statement also stated that the president was bent on breaking up the country and that it was ready for that. “We have seen and noted that President Muhammadu Buhari (a.k.a. Pharaoh) is set for the final breakup of the country.”

  2. They are fighting a just course. All this would have been avoided had Buhari engaged them in a dialogue. You can’t apply force in everything. Now they are no longer interested in any dialogue but soveriegnty. They should be given soverienghty, same with the people of Biafra
