Pep Guardiola has said he is jittery about the damage Zlatan Ibrahimovic can unleash on his Manchester City side in Saturday’s derby at Old Trafford.
Guardiola had a well known bad relationship with Ibrahimovic during his time at Barcelona, where the Swede played just one season before he was sent on loan to Milan.
Ibrahimovic in his autobiography lambasted the City manager, calling him “a spineless coward”. Nevertheless ahead of the famous Manchester derby, Guardiola praised his former player and his one-time Real Madrid foe, Jose Mourinho.
“There’s no doubt about Ibrahimovic’s quality,” Guardiola said at his pre-match press conference. “I have a lot of respect for what Zlatan has done for football.”
