President Muhammadu Buhari, who has not been seen in public for quite sometime, made an unexpected appearance at Friday Muslim prayers at the presidential villa mosque.
Mr. Buhari arrived the Mosque at 1:28 p.m. with some aides.
Clad in all white attire, he reportedly walked from his official residence to the mosque and back – a distance of about 600 metres.
He also stopped to exchange greetings with people.
President Buhari was joined for the two-rakat prayers by top government officials, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Muhammed Bello and the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.
This maybe a move to douse tension and anxiety across the country over the health condition of the president, who has failed to disclose the nature of his ailment, despite being sick for a long time. On Wednesday, Buhari failed for the third consecutive time to preside over the Federal executive Council, FEC, meeting.
