Amid whispers of his being marginalized and disrespected by President Muhammadu Buhari and the so-called cabal at the seat of power, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo will represent his boss at the extraordinary ECOWAS summit taking place in Niamey, Niger Republic, on Friday.

Mr. Laolu Akande, senior special assistant on media to the vice-president, announced this in a statement, saying other ECOWAS heads of state and government will be at the summit which is being held to address the political crisis in Guinea Bissau.

“The Vice-President will depart Abuja this morning and return later today,” the statement said.

President Buhari is currently in the UK on a private visit, without officially ceding power to Osinbajo.

There was national outrage when Buhari this week signed a bill into law from his London abode.

However, the presidency countered that Buhari can govern from any where.

Nevertheless, it again inflamed talks of marginalization and disrespect for Mr. Osinbajo by Buhari and his handlers.
