Final Public Demand For My Immediate Islamic Portion Of Ile-Isanna (Matchco) Property, Forming Part Of The Estate Of My Late Father, The 9th Emir Of Ilorin, Alhaji Zulkarnein Gambari (OPEN LETTER)

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,

To:

Alhaji Ahmed Bolakale Gambari

(Self-acclaimed Head of the Gambari Family)

Your claim — jointly made with your full sister, Hajiya Salamatu Olawepo Gobir, in your letter dated 20th August 2025 — that Ile-Isanna (Matchco) House belongs to the current 11th Emir has been conclusively addressed and resolved. The property forms part of the private estate of my late father, the 9th Emir of Ilorin. This matter is settled.

For clarity and public record:

The Ilorin Emirate Council has no role, authority, or jurisdiction over the private estate of the late 9th Emir. Matters of inheritance in Islam are governed solely by the Qur’an and the Sunnah. Islam is a complete religion and a complete way of life; it does not allow customs, traditions, or cultural assumptions to override what Allah has prescribed.

I now state, politely but with complete firmness:

1. Whether I choose to participate in any joint-venture business with you is my personal decision, and I choose not to.

2. Islamic inheritance is neither political nor democratic. It requires no voting, lobbying, or majority agreement.

3. When an heir says, “I prefer not to join the joint business — kindly release my Qur’anic portion,” that right becomes immediately due. No meeting or family consensus can delay it.

4. It is difficult to understand why an 83-year-old man would place himself under the burden and rigor of “managing investments” for fully grown adult siblings — unless there is an undisclosed motive or reason. Transparency would remove all suspicion.

5. It is also difficult to understand why mature adults — siblings in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s — are being pressured to join a business arrangement they have respectfully declined. Respect for adult siblings’ decisions should guide such matters.

6. The Qur’an does not leave inheritance to tradition, sentiment, or personal discretion. Allah has fixed the shares Himself, and He commands that they be delivered fully, promptly, and without conditions.

This issue should not have reached a point where further steps must be taken with the Kwara State Shari’ah Court of Appeal, the High Court, the EFCC, the ICPC, or any other relevant authority. Yet, delays continue.

This letter therefore serves as my final respectful but firm request for the immediate and equitable distribution of Ile-Isanna (Matchco).

I regret that this matter has endured such unnecessary complications. I respectfully urge you to step aside and stop blocking the distribution of the entire estate — including Ile-Isanna (Matchco) and all other assets — fully and precisely according to the shares Allah has prescribed in the Glorious Qur’an.

I wish to take my portion separately and in full. Others may choose differently, but that is their personal decision — not yours.

Alhaji Ahmed Bolakale Gambari,

With due respect, I kindly ask that you comply with the clear guidance of Islam.

No heir may be compelled to join any business against their will.

Let this matter be resolved peacefully, respectfully, and justly.

Wassalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

Signed:

Bilkisu Tinuola Gambari
