Bandits Kill Five Farmers, Abduct Several Others, Including Children In Kebbi Northwest Nigeria

Five farmers have reportedly been killed by suspected bandits while working on their farmlands in Wasagu communities, Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State in Northwest Nigeria.

Crisis reporter and security analyst, Bakatsine disclosed this via his X handle on Thursday.

Bakatsine said the armed attackers invaded farmlands where the farmers were working and opened fire on them, killing five people and abducting others – including children.

According to him, a resident identified as Alhaji Ummaru was killed along the Ayu–Wasagu road in Wasagu town.

He also said the attackers abducted children, who were travelling with Ummaru on a motorcycle near the Nayaya and Rijiyar Margayi areas.

The incidents have heightened concerns among residents and farming communities in the area, with insecurity increasingly affecting access to farmlands and movement along rural roads.

As of the time of filing this report, there was no official confirmation or statement from security operatives on the reported attacks, while the fate of those abducted remained unknown.
