Zamfara Residents Forced To Pay Fresh ₦50m Levies To Bandits Kingpin Bello Turji

Residents of Yan Buki community in the Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria have reportedly paid about N50 million to notorious bandits kingpin, Bello Turji and his group.

The payment was said to have been made on Wednesday to secure the release of abducted residents and also settle levies allegedly imposed on the community by the bandit group.

A security alert expert, Bakatsine, confirmed the development on Thursday.

Bello Turji has been linked to bandit attacks, kidnappings and other violent activities across Zamfara and neighbouring areas.

Communities in Zamfara and the North-West have continued to live under the mercy of terrorists and bandits.
