Nigeria Police Operatives Arrest Ex-Governor Okorocha In Abuja Hotel For Alleged Conspiracy, Forgery

Former Imo State governor Rochas Okorocha has reportedly been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force.

Mr. Okorocha, a former senator, was arrested on Monday night by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force at the REIZ Continental Hotel, Abuja.

The arrest was reportedly connected to allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery and impersonation.

The report indicated that law enforcement authorities arrested Okorocha after obtaining a bench warrant.

The police were said to have obtained the bench warrant following Okorocha’s alleged failure to honour invitations for interrogation.

The matter reportedly concerns alleged dispute over the All Progressives Congress, APC, senatorial primary election results for Imo West.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had frowned at a document circulating with Okorocha’s name as the winner of the APC primary.

INEC recognises Governor Hope Uzodimma as the winner.
