The English FA has decided that Sunderland boss, Sam Allardyce is the right man to lead the England national team. Checkpointcharley understands that he will be named tomorrow at a Football Association board meeting and tasked with guiding the under-performing national side to the 2018 World Cup.
Allardyce will be offered a two year contract. Though personal terms and compensation are yet to be negotiated by the FA.
The 61-year-old former Bolton, Newcastle and West Ham manager succeeds Roy Hodgson, who stepped down after England’s humiliating last-16 exit to Iceland at the European championships in June.
“Big Sam” Allardyce was in line for the job a decade ago but lost out to Steve McClaren.

At last, it takes England ten years to find the right man
