The Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr. Chris Ngige, has apologised to the National Assembly over the rascality of the minister of state in his ministry, Festus Keyamo, at the federal parliament last week.

Ngige tendered the apology when he led Keyamo to a meeting with the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan, on Tuesday.

The minister asked the National Assembly to forgive Keyamo.

He begged them, on behalf of the junior minister, to put his mistake aside and work for the success of the national assignment placed on their shoulders.

Mr. Keyamo had clashed with lawmakers when he appeared before them to answer questions about the recruitment of 774, 000 Nigerians in the Special Public Works Programme 2020 being undertaken by the Ministry.

Following the altercation, the National Assembly suspended the recruitment. But Mr. Keyamo had boasted to ahead ahead with it, saying the legislature lacked the powers to suspend it.
